KPOP Life and How I Started with It

I am not a fan of following the trend. Actually I hated it since I was young(er).,

When all my cousins signed up for Friendster accounts, I did not. But after I felt that the 'excitement' was not there anymore, I opened mine -- to their surprise. Then Facebook came, and I said "I don't need or want that! I have Friendster! Aishhhhh...." But after a short while I decided to sign up for one.


Then this whole Boys Over Flowers series took over the Philippines. My then 5 year-old sister was swooning over Gu Jun Pyo and Ji Hu. She points at everything that has their faces like she knows them and she loves them so much, from keychains, to shirts and photos! I was like, what the heck is so nakakatuwa with that? Remember that was like 2009 when it was shown in the Philippines.

Fast forward 2011.

I watched this drama titled "Playful Kiss" and was attracted to Kim Hyun Joong. I researched stuff about him and found out he is the leader of SS501.

Korean Customs: Shaking Hands

There are a lot of things that fascinates me about the Korean culture and values. There are a lot of similarities with my country's values, but then I think that they are much stricter in some ways.

Last time, husband and I had a conversation about Korean handshake.

You see, when they do handshake, it is customary that they do it with their two hands, or with one hand holding the elbow. I noticed too that they do that when getting something from someone, for example when they buy something or pay for something. I've learned that this is a sign of respect.

My husband couldn't believe it. He said that he thinks it's too tiring to do that every time. But I think that it's a very nice custom.

Presenting Seoul at Heart

I have been blogging for a long time now. Some of the blogs are still alive, but most of them are gathering cobwebs (on the web). One time, I while watching a favorite Korean variety show I got guilty, oh my, I am spending way too much time watching Korean shows!

So it came to me, why don't I create a blog about Korea?

I am a 20-something lady, not a Korean, but loves everything about that country I have never been too. I cannot speak their language (yet, I am seriously studying) and have never set foot on their soil, but I just love everything about it.
